ASSEMBLY

UNFOLDING AND FOLDING THE HANDLE
 ASSEMBLY

See Figures 2 - 3.

To unfold the handle assembly:

Standing behind the mower, step on the foot pedal to

unlock the handle assembly.

With the foot pedal depressed, grasp the handle assem-

bly and slowly move it back until it locks in the operating
position.

To fold the handle assembly:

Grasp the handle assembly, step on the foot pedal, and

slowly push the handle assembly down toward the mower
until it locks into place.

EXTENDING THE UPPER HANDLE

See Figure 4.

Move both levers to the unlocked position.

  Fully extend the upper handle.

Move both levers to the locked position to secure the

upper handle in place.

To retract the upper handle, move both levers to the

unlocked position and push the upper handle into the
lower handle. Move both levers to the locked position to
secure.

CHANGING THE HEIGHT OF THE HANDLE
ASSEMBLY

See Figure 5.

Unfold the handle assembly and extend the upper handle.

  Pull the latches out.

Rotate the handle assembly up to the upper height position

or rotate the handle down to the lower height position.

NOTE:

The handle assembly must be placed in either the

upper or lower height position for the mower to operate.

Push the latches in to lock the handle assembly at the

desired height.

ASSEMBLING THE GRASS CATCHER

See Figures 6 - 7.

Place the grass catcher frame on a flat surface with the

handle facing down.

Orient the grass catcher bag so the vinyl floor is facing

up, then slide the bag onto the frame. When installing,
allow the frame handle to remain outside the bag and
make sure the bag seams are located at the frame edges.

Pull the clip over the frame rail to secure in place.

Lift the bag’s vinyl floor to the top of the frame rail and

secure in place.

Using the same method, attach the remaining clips on

each side of the bag to the frame rail to secure.

INSTALLING THE MULCHING PLUG

(FOR MULCHING OPERATION)

See Figure 8.

NOTE:

When using the mulching plug, do not install the

grass catcher.

Remove the start key and battery pack.

Insert the mulching plug into the mower’s rear discharge

opening and place the mulching plug’s metal lock into
the slot on the right side of the mower housing.

Gently push down on the mulching plug to ensure the

metal lock is fully seated in the slot. The mower will not
start if the metal lock is not fully seated.

Reinstall the start key and battery pack when you are

ready to mow.

INSTALLING THE GRASS CATCHER (FOR

REAR BAGGING OPERATION)

See Figures 9 - 10.

NOTE:

When using the grass catcher, do not install the

mulching plug.

Remove the start key and battery pack.

Place the grass catcher onto the mower so the opening

on the grass catcher covers the rear discharge opening
and the grass catcher’s metal locks are inside the slots
on the mower housing.

Gently push down on the grass catcher to ensure the

metal locks are fully seated in the slots. The mower will
not start if the metal locks are not fully seated.

Reinstall the start key and battery pack when you are

ready to mow.

SETTING THE BLADE HEIGHT

See Figure 11.

When shipped, the blade on the mower is set to a low- cutting
position. Before using the mower for the first time, raise the
cutting position to the height best suited for your lawn. The
average lawn should be between 1-1/2 in. to 2 in. during cool
months and between 2 in. and 3-1/4 in. during hot months.

To adjust the blade height:

Remove the start key and battery pack.

To raise the blade height, squeeze the height adjustment

trigger and lift the mower deck up.

NOTE:

Use the scale on top of the mower deck to select

the appropriate blade height.

To lower the blade height, squeeze the height adjustment

trigger and push the mower deck down.

Reinstall the start key and battery pack when you are

ready to mow.
