Peakmeter Series 1204A
Getting started Page 5-3
5.5. Connecting to a power supply
The series 1204A peakmeter requires a single voltage supply (+24 V, 250 mA
nominal current, the switch-on current is considerably higher) for operation.
5.6. Mode switches and LED functions
The series 1204A peakmeter features a dual channel LED-bargraph display
for level display, correlator, additional LED´s for status information and five
pushbuttons. The pushbutton functions are explained as follows. The
pushbutton functions differ in operation mode Setup. Chapter six describes
the setup function in detail.
GAIN-KEY (S2)
- The use of this pushbutton boosts the
input
sensitivity
by +20 dB. The use of the function is stored as a flag in
memory.
GAIN LED
- Indicates the use of the gain function. Recalling the memory
this LED will also indicate a possible use of the gain function since the
last memory reset.
MEMO-KEY (S1)
- The use of this pushbutton recalls the highest level
value, the most negative correlation reading and a possible use of the
gain mode since the last time a
memory
reset has been proceeded.
Please keep attention to the fact that memory accuracy can be affected
by interferenced signals (ESD- or Burst). This may cause misreadings
from the memory or meter if you are using the instrument in an
interferenced environment. A specific measurement of maximum level
should be repeated if interference is suspected.
RESET-KEY (S3)
- The use of this pushbutton resets the memory.
LOUD-KEY (SET)
- The use of this pushbutton activates the
LOUDNESS
display. The loudness level will be displayed as an additional spot with
four green segments on the bargraph. Pushing this button for more than
2 seconds causes a mode change of the unit into setup mode.
PHOLD-KEY (NEXT)
- The use of this pushbutton activates an additional
PEAKHOLD
marker. This mode reads the current levels as bargraph.
Peak hold values will be shown as a two-segment indicator. The peak
level is reset automatically after approx. 2 seconds or according to the
setting in the preset memory.
1 and 0.1-LED
- These LED´s mark the use of a non standard
inte-
gration time
(1 or 0.1 msec).
Cal-LED
- This LED will be lit red as the unit is set to level
calibration
mode.
