Outputting PCM Data
This chapter outlines the steps to configure the BAP to embed PCM data for an output path. When
outputting PCM data for an audio channel, you will need to:
1. Bypass the Dolby encoder for the required output path.
2. Re-map the channels for the output path as outlined in “
Mapping the Output Paths to an SDI
Output ”.
Bypassing a Dolby Encoder Channel for an Output Path
By default, the encoder is enabled for each SDI. To embed PCM data, you must first bypass the
encoder for the path.

Changing the Bypass state will create a video and audio glitch.
To bypass an encoder channel for an output path
1. Display the DD DDP Encoder interface as outlined in “ To display the BAP interfaces in
DashBoard ”.
2. Select the Config tab.
3. Select the Bypass box.
4. Click Apply .
Re-map the Output Path Channels
When the Bypass box is selected in the Dolby Encoder > Config tab, the output path channels are
automatically reset to the default mapping values. If your requirements differ from the default
mapping, you must re-map the channels. Refer to “ Mapping the Output Paths to an SDI Output ”.
