7.3  LAMP REPLACEMENT

The ultraviolet lamp is a consumable part that has an average lifetime of 6 months.
When the lamp reaches 50 % intensity, it should be replaced. See Figure 7-3 for a
lamp life vs. intensity chart.

The instrument's software monitors the UV lamp source current during power-up and
every five minutes during normal operation. If for any reason, including lamp failure,
the source current falls below a preset value, the [UV LAMP ERROR] message will
appear on the display.

The user can access all setup screens, including the Diagnostics screen. When the
error condition is corrected (generally by replacing the lamp (see Section 6.2), the unit
returns to normal operation.
