Installing the Hard Disk
The VS-880EX is able to install one HDP88 serie’s internal hard disk (optional).
Having an internal hard disk installed make the VS-880EX system compact and
easy to transport. Roland recommends installing an internal hard disk into your
VS-880EX.
The VS-880EX accepts installation of Roland HDP88 serie’s hard disks
(hard disk drive units). For simultaneous recording or playback of a
number of tracks, for getting more out of the available hard disk space,
and in order to get the fullest performance in general from the VS-
880EX,
we recommend using the HDP88-2100
.

Precautions When Installing a Hard Disk
●
Use a Phillips screwdriver of a size appropriate for the head of the screw (a no. 2
screwdriver). If the screwdriver is the wrong size, the screw heads may be
stripped, or you may not be able to turn the screws.
●
To remove the screws, rotate the screwdriver counterclockwise. To tighten the
screws, rotate the screwdriver clockwise.
●
When handling the hard disk, remove screws only as directed in the instructions.
●
Take care not to drop any screws into the interior of the VS-880EX’s chassis.
●
The front panel cover which was removed must not be left unattached. When you
are finished installing the hard disk, be sure to re-attach the cover as before.
●
Do not touch any of the printed circuit pathways or connection terminals.
●
Be careful not to cut your hand on the edge of the installation opening.
●
When circuit board installation is complete, double-check your work.
