3.8 Firmware Update
The firmware of the audio unit can be upgraded to a newer version. Please make sure
that these tools are available on the user PC performing the update:

FTP client (e.g. Windows command line tool FTP)

Telnet client (e.g. Windows command line tool TELNET)
Preconditions for upgrade procedure are listed in the following:

The audio unit is booted up and running

LAN connection to the GB4000V device shall be established via remote control
interface X4 LAN

Make sure that the firewall does not block the FTP and telnet ports (port 20, 21
and 23)

Firmware Update package (.zip file) containing the Linux and FPGA update
files shall be present
Perform the following steps to do the Firmware Update of the GB4000V Audio Unit:

Open the FTP connection to the GB4000V (username: ftp, password: ftp) via
ftp client

Change to directory /tmp on console of audio unit: cd /tmp (create the
directory, if necessary, via mkdir /tmp ).

Copy the whole Firmware package (.zip file) into the “/tmp” directory:
put
[filename.zip]

Close the FTP connection: quit

Open the Telnet connection to the GB4000V (username: root, password: N/A)

Run command sw_update and wait until the update finished (~ 5 minutes)

Restart the GB4000V device
– disconnect the audio unit from power supply
