9–4 Replacing the Backlight Tubes

Note:
There are backlight tubes on either side of the display,
but only one side has an arrow.
3. Gently pull the tube out of the assembly.
4. Slide the replacement backlight tube into the slot until it snaps into
place. Reattach the backlight tube connectors to the backlight power
supply.
5. Reattach the LED connector to the LED board and the power cable
to the backlight controller board.
6. Reattach the display cable to the CPU card and attach the
touchscreen cable to the touchscreen controller board, if used.
7. Reattach the display assembly to the unit using the 10 screws.
8. Replace the top cover of the unit and the back cover of the unit if
necessary.
To replace the backlight tubes (12.1 in version):
1. Disconnect the backlight tube connectors from the backlight power
supply.
2. Remove the two screws holding each backlight tube in place.
3. Slide the tube to the left and gently pull the tube out of the assembly.
4. Insert the replacement backlight tube into the slot and slide it to the
right until the holes for the screws are aligned. Replace the screws.
5. Reattach the backlight tube connectors to the backlight power
supply.
6. Reattach the LED connector to the LED board and the power cable
to the backlight controller board.
