L2TP (Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol)
Select the L2TP radio button if your ISP uses a L2TP connection. Your ISP will provide you with a username and password. This is typically used for DSL connections.
User Name:
Enter the L2TP user name provided by your ISP.
Password:
Enter the password provided by your ISP. Enter it again in the
Retype
Password
field.
L2TP Server:
Enter the L2TP Server IP Address provided by your server.
Local IP Address:
If you have a static IP address issued by your ISP, you can
specify that it be used here. Ensure that you check the box labeled
Use the
following local IP address.
DNS Servers:
Enter the primary and secondary DNS Servers provided by your ISP.
Ensure that you check the box labeled
Use the following DNS server addresses

MTU:
The Maximum Transmission Unit. You may need to modify this according to
your ISP. The default setting is 1400.
Maximum Idle Time:
Enter the maximum time in minutes that the internet
connection should be maintained when there is no network activity. Enter 0 to
always keep the connection active.
Dial-up mode:
Use the radio button to select a reconnect mode. You may choose from:
Auto
: reconnect when disconnection detected.
Manual
: the user must come back to this screen and click
to connect again.
On Demand
: the router will detect when a request is made for an internet resource and initiate the connection.
