SECTION 13: CONTROL METHODS
There are se v eral methods of controlling CRVSF-
Series systems. The options are as follo w s:
13.1 ROBERTS GORDON ® System Control
The System Control is an electronic control panel
designed to control CRVSF-Series heating systems.
The System Control
w iring is sho w n on Page 50,
Figure 32 through Page 52, Figure 35 and in the
System Control Installation Man u al
(P/N 10091601NA).
The System Control can be
u sed to control an EP-
100 or EP-201 p u mp from the control panel. Other
p u mps s u ch as the EP-301 and 3 Ø models may be
controlled in conj u nction w ith a relay or motor starter.
The System Control can control u p to fo u r zones of
b u rners and u p to t w o v ac uu m p u mps.
The electrical circ u it is a 120 Vac (20 A) s u pply.
The o u tp u t for the thermostat is 24 Vac.
A System Control operated system has t w o min u tes
post p u rge p u mp operation to completely exha u st
prod u cts of comb u stion from the system. A system
control pro v ides indication of po w er to the p u mp and
zones and indicates the stat u s of the press u re s w itch
w ith lights.
The System Control is ETL listed in accordance w ith
UL873 – Standard for Temperat u re Indicating and
Reg u lating Eq u ipment.
13.2 ROBERTS GORDON ® ULTRAVAC ™

is a micro-
processor based control package designed for
mod
u lating control of CRVSF-Series heaters based
on o u tdoor temperat u res. The controls offer f u ll
mod u lation bet w een 60% and 100% of system
maxim u m rated inp u t.
This controller is capable of gi v ing control o u tp u ts to
one p u mp and three heating zones. The controller
also feat u res inp u ts w hich are u sed for indoor and
o u tdoor signal condition monitoring.
System stat u s and settings are v ie w ed and altered
from a PC (not s u pplied) r u nning ROBERTS
GORDON ® ULTRAVAC ™ Soft w are.

controls offer a host of comm u nication options for
integration w ith controls’ net w orks to best ser v e
indi v id u al needs:
ULTRAVAC™ BMS Link: Interface ULTRAVAC™
w ith other b u ilding management control platforms
u sing BACnet ® or MODBUS ® protocol w hich
comm u nicates v ia o u r ULTRAVAC™ BMS Link
option.
TCP/IP (LAN): Connect to ULTRAVAC™ v ia yo u r
local area net w ork of comp u ters. Load ULTRAVAC™
soft w are onto any comp u ter on the net w ork and
control and v ie w yo u r heating system from yo u r
comp u ter v ia static IP address.
MODEM: Dial into ULTRAVAC™ from any w here in
the w orld v ia modem. S u pplied as standard on all
central controllers!
RS-4 8 5: Hard w ire ULTRAVAC™ directly to yo u r
comp u ter.
13.3 CORAYVAC
®
Modulatin g Controls
For a ROBERTS GORDON ® CORAYVAC ®
Mod u lating system, combine a mod u lating
thermostat, a thermostat relay (P/N 90417600K) and
DANGER

Disconnect electric before service or
maintenance.
More than one disconnect switch may be
required to disconnect electric to the unit.
Control must be properly grounded to an
electrical source.
Failure to follow these instructions can
result in death or electrical shock.

in death, injury or property damage.
