MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES CONTINUED
SUGGESTED HYDRAULIC FLUID CHANGE
INTERVALS
NOTE:
Frequency of maintenance may need to change if
equipment is installed in an extremely dusty or hot
environment. Use only
MIL-H-5606
hydrualic fluid.
1. Engage the safety devices as described in the
following Danger.
2.
Carefully remove the cover from the hydraulic fluid
reservoir. Drain hydraulic fluid through the drain
plug. Clean out reservoir by wiping out the bottom.
Replace the drain plug and inspect the cover gasket
for damage. Securely tighten the cover and gasket
to the reservoir.
3.
Replace the oil filter (RITE-HITE P/N 55218).
4. Fill the reservoir with 7 gallons of MIL-H-5606
hydraulic fluid. (RITE-HITE P/N 55036. Available in
quart containers only.).
5. Disengage the following safety devices:
a. Push in the selector valve,
b. Turn on power,
c. Disengage the support latch by returning the
platform to dock height by pressing and holding
the Lift UP and MANUAL/RESET buttons. The
support latch will automatically disengage.
6. Cycle the unit ten times in every mode to remove air
from the system.
7. Engage the safety devices as described in the
following Danger.
8.
Check for fluid leaks and verify that the hydraulic
fluid level is correct with the unit resting at dock
height in the stored position. See Figure 20.

without:
• Engaging the support latch by pulling the
activation chain and pressing and holding
the Lift DOWN button until the platform
stops decending as shown in Figure 2,
• Pulling the selector valve activation chain
out to prevent scissors movement as
shown in Figure 4,
• If lip needs to be extended, follow procedures
on page 6, Figure 5,
• Turning off power to the control box,
• Locking out and tagging out the main
power source, as shown under Safety
Warnings on page 4.
