1.
Place header in front of the opening, by locating the
factory assembled header lifting tubes bolted to the
bottom of the header.
NOTE: If bollard posts are present, and the lifting tubes
cannot be used, strap around the header tube. The
shorter support post is mounted to the header at
the side closest to the jamb. Insure that the header
is 7 1/2” above the opening at the end closest to
the jamb.
2.
Lift the header using the fork lift and bolt the support
posts to the header (posts are free to slide up & down
within the c-channel bracket) and place against the wall,
Figure 2.
3.
Plumb outside of jamb support post 9” past edge of jamb.
4.
Thru-bolt the header to the wall at the (4) top and (2)
bottom mounting angles using the 6” x 6” backer plates,
all thread rods and nuts provided,
Figure 2 or 2A.
If wall
is not solid, sleeves (not provided) must be used to
prevent wall from crushing and sagging of the header.
5.
Plumb and fasten the support posts to the wall in the
(4 or 6 based on O.D.H) locations provided with the 6” x 6”
backer plates, all thread rods and nuts provided,
Figure 2 or 2A.
6.
After header and support posts have been installed,
remove the header lifting tubes and hardware.
