Functional description of the chip suction plant
A vacuum is generated in the collecting tank by means of suction turbines in the drive unit. The raw air
is sucked in through the nozzle and the suction tube. Coarser particles fall out of the air current into
the collecting tank or perforated basket. The baffle plate prevents damage to the bag-type filter on the
drive unit. Smaller particles and dust are collected on the surface of the filter material as they pass
through the bag-type filter. The resulting clean air is blown back into the work area via the suction
turbines and the sound-damping exhaust air tube.
The cooling air for the suction turbines is drawn into the air intakes on the hood and flows along the
motor. This heated air is discharged back into the work area again through various air gaps on the
hood.
