Introduction – Pager components
Model R800D-2-PW – User’s Guide
Holster (belt clip)
A holster, equipped with a belt clip, accompanies the pager. While
in the holster, the pager is protected and wearable. You can
configure the pager to perform different types of message
notification depending on whether it is in or out of the holster.
When you receive a new message and remove the pager from the
holster within five seconds, notification (beeping and/or vibrating)
stops and the most recently received message will be open. If you
pull the pager out of the holster and quickly replace it, notification
stops but the message will remain marked unread. See page 21 for
information on setting message notification options.
Cradle
Once the RIM
Inter@ctive
Pager 850
Desktop Software has been
installed, the RIM
Inter@ctive
Pager 850
cradle allows you to
synchronize your desktop with the pager. When you place the
pager in the cradle, messages can be reconciled and your Personal
Information Management (PIM) applications can be synchronized.
(PIM applications include the Address Book, Calendar, and Tasks
functions.) With the pager in the cradle, you can also backup and
restore information and load new applications on to the pager. In
addition the cradle allows you to charge a rechargeable AA in the

Pager 850
. To perform this function, the cradle must
be connected to an AC line power source using the supplied AC
adapter. When the pager is placed in the cradle, the cradle
evaluates the battery to determine if it is a valid rechargeable cell,
and begins a charging cycle based on this evaluation. Please refer to
the RIM
