116 Frequently asked questions – Battery
Model R800D-2-PW – User’s Guide
•
Use the vibrator notification option because it requires less
power than the beeper. See page 21 for information on the
notification options of the pager.
•
Avoid using the pager for long messages. The reply with
text feature also makes your messages longer, draining the
battery faster.
•
Avoid using the backlighting feature because it requires a
lot of power.
•
Turn off your pager’s radio when you are not reading mail
or when receiving your mail is not urgent. This can save a
large amount of the battery’s power.
•
If you are sending the same message to more than one
person, use multiple recipients in one message rather than
transmitting the same message more than once. See page
37 for information on composing a message to multiple
recipients.
What should I do if my pager does not turn on?
•
Make sure the AA battery is properly installed or try
inserting a new battery. You may have to wait for the AA
battery to charge the internal battery. See page 15 for
information on inserting the battery.
•
If the battery has been low for some time or you suspect
that the battery could be low, keep the old AA battery in
for 6 to 8 hours before trying to turn on the pager. Then
replace the AA battery again and normal operation should
be possible.
•
If the pager does not turn on after replacing the battery,
reset the pager. See page 120 for information on resetting
the pager.
