Installing the Counter Monochromator (Optional)

MiniFlex 600: Benchtop X-ray Diffractometer
6
Install the monochromator (with SC installed to it) on the goniometer
arm. Place the guide rail at the bottom of the monochromator properly
on the goniometer arm, and fix the monochromator.
The expected diffracted X-ray intensity cannot be obtained if there is any
problem with how the monochromator is installed, such as clearance. Also,
check that the SC cable is connected. After the monochromator is fixed in
position, make sure that the receiving slit box is positioned besides the
monochromator.

7
Attach the upper cover of the enclosure.
8
Turn ON the "Power circuit breaker" on the rear side of MiniFlex 600
main unit. Then, press the "power ON switch" on the front side.
9
Start up PC, and then start up MiniFlex Guidance.
10
Measure the diffracted X-ray intensity of Si (111) again.
The targeted intensity is about 20% of the intensity measured without
monochromator and filter before the monochromator is installed. If the
intensity is lower than 20%, there may be a problem with the way the
monochromator is installed.

Note: Make sure there is
no clearance.
