Without thermoregulation by the external sensor
(jumper ST3-ST4-ST5 not inserted)
The delivery temperatures of the individual zones are deter-
mined by acting appropriately on the trimmer (TR1-TR2-TR3) of
the zone as described :
−
Setting the trimmer of the zone to the minimum:
−
if the zone is associated to a REC, the set-point of the
zone is the one set by the REC
−
If the zone is associated to a TA or a CT, the set-point of
the zone is the minimum possible value (see table in
the section “
Trimmer adjustment
” under the heading
“
WITHOUT an external sensor installed
”)
−
Setting the trimmer of the zone to a position other than
the minimum and irrespective of whether an REC or TA or
CT is associated with the zone, the set-point is the one
selected by the trimmer from the lowest possible values
(see table in the section “
Trimmer adjustment
” under
the heading “
WITHOUT external sensor installe
d”).
3.3.2
Delivery temperature between the boiler
and the BAG
The boiler delivery temperature varies depending on the type of
connection selected between the
BAG
3
and the boiler.
Link Mode connection
The boiler delivery temperature is determined by the
BAG
3
which
modulates it on the basis of the service needs of the zone (sec-
tion
“3.3.1 Delivery temperature between the BAG and the sys-
tem”). The position of the heating adjustment knob on the boil-
er is irrelevant.
Stand Alone connection
The boiler delivery temperature is adjusted to a
fi
xed point by
means of the heating adjustment knob on the boiler. This knob
must be correctly adjusted .
3.4
Summer / winter
BAG
3
does not recognise the SUMMER or WINTER selection actuat-
ed by the REC, TA or CT. The board is always in WINTER status and
the presence of at least one request for heat by the REC, TA or CT
determines the heating request.
Act on the REC, TA or CT to disable the possibility of a heating
request being made:
−
if there is a TA or CT, set the summer selector to SUMMER
and act on the TA or CT so that no heat request is made.
−
if there is an REC:
−
with a
Link Mode
connection between the
BAG
3
and
the boiler, act on the REC of channel 1 (CH1) to set the
desired mode in the boiler (summer/winter) and on
any other REC connected so that no heat request is
made
−
with a
Stand Alone
connection between the
BAG
3
and
the boiler, act on all the REC connected so that no heat
request is made.
3.5
Interaction with the DHW
If the
BAG
3
has a
Link Mode
connection with the boiler, it is able
to recognize that domestic hot water service is being performed
by stopping the circulation units of the low temperature system
and closing the mixing valves.
3.6
Post circulation
At the end of a heat request, by the REC, TA or CT on the individual
zone, post circulation is carried out for 30 seconds during which
time the circulation unit of the zone will be powered. Post circu-
lation is not activated if there is another heat request in at least
one other zone.
3.7
Over delivery on low temperature zones - limit
thermostat
The low temperature zones are protected from delivery temper-
atures exceeding 55°C both electronically and by a limit thermo-
stat which is automatically reset.
If the delivery temperature of the zone reaches 55°C, the
BAG
3
board immediately cuts off power to the circulation unit and
closes the mixing valve. After approximately 120 seconds, the cir-
culation unit is once again powered and after another 120 sec-
onds the mixing valve is reactivated for the normal adjustment
cycle.
If the delivery temperature of the zone exceeds 55°C, the limit
thermostat intervenes (12 or 13), power to the circulation unit is
cut off and the mixing valve is closed completely. After 120 sec-
onds, the circulation unit is once again powered and after an-
other 120 seconds, if the limit thermostat has reset (approximate
temperature of 40°C), the normal adjustment cycle is restored;
if this is not the case, the zone remains blocked until the ther-
mostat is reset.
13
12
It is possible to connect an additional limit thermostat (re-
set manually or automatically) for each low temperature zone
which immediately cuts off power to the circulation unit.
The thermostats are connected to the following terminals (please
refer to the
“Wiring diagram” page 29):
Zone 1
to terminals 13-14 connector M11
Zone 2
to terminals 9-10 connector M9.
