Introduction
This manual is intended for use by service technicians responsible for installing and servicing Tracer AV aviation baggage
instrumentation. This manual applies to units using Version 1.14 of the Tracer AV software.
Configuration and calibration of the Tracer AV can be accomplished using the 2-button keypad or the EDP command set. See

1.1 Safety Signal Definitions:

1.2 Overview
The Tracer AV is a single-channel digital weight indicator comprised of three components:
• The Tracer AV houses the AC power supply and CPU board. There are external DB-9 connectors for a PC connection,
two remote display connections, two remote keypad connections, and a load cell connection (See
).
• RD-1 remote display, an .8'', six-digit, seven-segment LED display or RD-2 remote display, an .8'', six-digit, seven-
segment LCD display.
• The RK-1 keypad (See
) has two keys which are used to zero the scale and to toggle between a
primary and secondary unit of measure in the normal mode of operation. These keys have a secondary function for the
setup mode.
The Tracer AV features include:
• Four-wire load cell connections; remote sense connections are not provided
• The electronic data processing (EDP) port is full duplex; RS-232 communications at up to 38400 bps. The EDP port is
accessed through the COMM connection
• The serial port connects to the remote displays. The output is RS-232 and will drive two remote displays
• Digital inputs are defaulted for RK-1 functionality
• Setpoints values will cause the display to flash when a specified weight value is exceeded
• Available for 115 VAC and 230 VAC
