Seasonal Adjustment Valve O-ring (Procedure 16)
1.
Isolate water supply to heater by closing cold water inlet isolation valve located
below heater.
2. Relieve system pressure by opening and then closing a hot tap.
3. Rotate seasonal adjustment valve so that handle points downward and remove screw
retaining C clip.
4. Using a small flat bladed screwdriver, remove C clip and withdraw valve from cold
water inlet assembly.
5. Using a small flat bladed screwdriver, gently prise o'ring from valve body.
6. Reassemble in reverse order of above.
7. Start heater and check for water leaks.
Cold Water Inlet Assembly (Procedure 17)
1.
Isolate water supply to heater by closing cold water inlet isolation valve located
below heater.
2. Remove front panel by following steps 1 ~ 2 of procedure 1.
3. Disconnect wiring from overheat switch.
4. Relieve system pressure by opening and then closing a hot tap, then drain the heater
by disconnecting plumbing from cold water inlet connection and removing the hot
water outlet drain plug.
5.
After heater has drained
, remove clamp from heat exchanger cold water inlet pipe
and gently pull pipe out from heat exchanger (be careful not to lose pipe o'ring).
6. Remove C pin retaining cold water inlet pipe to water throttle valve and gently pull pipe
out from water throttle valve (be careful not to lose pipe o'ring). Allow pipe to hang by
cable tied wires.
7. Disconnect wiring from water throttle valve.
8. Disconnect hydroelectric generator wiring loom plug.
9. Disconnect water flow sensor wiring loom plug.
10. Remove C pin retaining hydroelectric generator / flow sensor / throttle valve assembly
to cold water inlet assembly and gently pull hydroelectric generator / flow sensor /
throttle valve assembly out from cold water inlet assembly and place in a safe location
(be careful not to lose assembly o'ring).
11. Remove four Phillips head screws retaining cold water inlet assembly to base of
heater and remove cold water inlet assembly.
12. Reassemble in reverse order of above ensuring o'rings are clean, free from cracks and
lubricated with silicone grease if dry.
13. Start heater and check for water leaks.
14. Purge air from premises hot taps.
