Fault Finding Tests 2 ~ 4
Test 2
Isolate water supply to heater to
prevent heater from operating.
Disconnect top wire from overheat switch
and using a multimeter set on the ohms
scale, measure between the two terminals
on the overheat switch. The following
result should be obtained:
Less than 1 ohm (overheat switch has not
tripped).
Test 3
Isolate water supply to heater to
prevent heater from operating.
Disconnect SV3 / MASV wiring loom plug
and using a multimeter set on the ohms
scale, measure between the green wire on
the disconnected plug and the black earth
wire on the gas valve body. The following
result should be obtained:
100 ohms ± 10%.
Test 4
Isolate water supply to heater to
prevent heater from operating.
Disconnect SV3 / MASV wiring loom plug
and using a multimeter set on the ohms
scale, measure between the red wire and
the black wire on the disconnected plug.
The following result should be obtained:
8 ohms ± 10%.
