8  Connecting the U-router NGW to the Mobile Network 

In order to connect the U-router NGW to the mobile data network you will have to insert a SIM card 

as described in paragraph 5.1.  

 

In  most  cases,  to  configure  your  U-router  NGW  to  connect  to  your  mobile  operator  the  only 

information required is the APN and sometimes a username and password – all other fields may be 

left at their defaults. When you purchase your mobile SIM card, your mobile operator will provide 

you with various settings. These settings vary by operator and subscription and may include:

PIN code 

 

Activation of the mobile data connection can be done on the 

Mobile

 tab of the Web GUI. When your 

SIM requires a PIN, this can also be configured on the same page. 

 

For example, to configure the U-router NGW to connect to the Vodafone network in the Netherlands 

you would need to enter the APN: office.vodafone.nl, user: vodafone, password: vodafone.
