5 Installation Overview
The U-router NGW is a radio device capable of transmitting and receiving in the Cat M1/NB1
deployed bands: 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 12, 13, 20, 26*, 28*; EGPRS quad-band, 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
bands. Because the U-router NGW unit operates in the radio frequency bands it can be susceptible
to interference that can reduce range. Install the U-router NGW in such a way that adequate
LTE/GSM reception is obtained. You can see the LTE/GSM signal levels in the configuration menu of
the U-router. Please see paragraph 7.1 for retrieving the GSM/LTE status.
5.1
Inserting the SIM card
In order to start using the U-router NGW you need to insert a miniature SIM card. Please make sure
the SIM card is a data card
. The SIM card holder is located inside to the U-router NGW and can
only be accessed by unscrewing the four screws in the bottom of the unit using a Phillips screw
driver. To insert a SIM card, take the following steps:
1.
Make sure the U-router NGW is switched off, by unplugging the power supply.
2.
Unscrew the four screws in the bottom of the unit.
3.
Turn the unit over and carefully lift the top off the unit.
