DETAIL
Standard Equipment
The Aero Compact Liferafts are equipped with the following items and features (Fig. 1):
1.
Painterline/Inflation Lanyard
Pulling on the 22ft. (6.7m) inflation lanyard (IPL Fig. 1, Item 70) will activate the inflation system
and begin raft deployment in 2 and 4 person liferafts. It can be used as a mooring line after
activation.
2.
Knife
A floating raft knife features a sharp blade recessed into a handle to minimize the possibility of
damage to the raft. It is attached to a Velcro strap for security. The raft knife is used to cut the
mooring line attaching the raft to the boat when the decision to cast off has been made.
(IPL Fig. 1, Item 100).
3.
Righting Handle
This handle is located on the bottom of the Aero Compact 4 person rafts and is used for turning
over (righting) a capsized raft.
4.
Life Lines
Available on the exterior of the raft, these lines provide survivors with a place to grasp from the
water or while seated in the raft. The life lines are constructed of 1in. (2.5cm) wide webbing
knotted to fabric patches which are held by strong adhesive. (IPL Fig. 2, Item 20)
5.
Sea Anchor
A self-deploying sea anchor is provided to increase water drag and reduce wind drift. It is
connected by an anchor cord to a high strength patch on the raft and is stored inside of the raft.
(IPL Fig. 1, Item 110).
6.
Boarding Stirrup
Boarding Stirrup is available on the Aero Compact 4 person rafts only. This allows for easier
entrance onto the raft.
7.
Locator Light
Aero Compact rafts have a self activated locator light. Activation occurs automatically upon
immersion in water. (IPL Fig. 1, Item 90).
