COMPONENT PREPARATION
Warning:
Take care when using any electric tooling. Be sure to protect your eyes and
hands when performing any of these procedures. Refer to tool manufacturer’s
manuals on proper use of their equipment before performing any of these
outlined procedures.
Caution:
Do not use any other packing methods than those outlined below.
Packing and Stowage of Handpump and Bailer
Using 1in. wide white tape (Part No. 10-TAPE-1”), secure plug to the side of handpump.
Place handpump into corner of bailer bag and fold twice. Secure with a rubber band. (See Fig. 2B)
Connect both the bailer and the handpump to the raft lifeline using 24in. long x 1/16in. diameter nylon
cord (IPL Fig. 1, Item 140). Tie with bowline knots. Place in the center of the raft with nozzle facing
upward. (See Fig. 5)
Packing and Stowage of Sea Anchor
Fake Fold sea anchor line into 10in. folds and secure each with a small rubber band. Fold sea anchor
and wrap remaining line around it twice to secure. (See Fig. 2C)
Secure sea anchor to the raft with a bowline knot and place in the center of the raft. (See Fig. 5)
Packing and Stowage of Inflation Lanyard
Fake fold the lanyard cord and insert into painterline sachet (IPL Fig. 1, Item 80) leaving 2ft. of
exposed cord at both ends. (See Fig. 2D)
Light
Install the light into the holder (IPL Fig. 2, Item 30) on the top of the buoyancy tube. Place the battery
pack into the holder (IPL Fig. 2, Item 40) on the bottom of the buoyancy tube.
Using a 28in. piece of 1/16in. diameter nylon cord (IPL Fig. 1, Item 140), loop battery plug through the
front and side hole of the rear ballast bag and pull to tighten. (See Fig. 2E)
Knife
Tie one end of 48in. long x 1/16in. diameter nylon cord (IPL Fig. 1 Items 130) to the handle of the
knife. Tie the other end to the knife pocket on the buoyancy tube. Wrap cord around knife handle
then insert knife into pocket (IPL Fig. 2, Item 10). (See Fig. 5)
