Transporting the Canto Nxt
GB27
Taxibus
The Canto Nxt has been tested positively by the
TNO as ‘crash test-proof wheelchair’ in compliance
with ISO 7176-19. The Canto Nxt can therefore be
transported, with user, in a taxibus (see also the sticker
on the wheelchair).
Whether the wheelchair user can be safely transported
depends, however, on the state of his or her health;
the user’s physician should be consulted.
Revab advises that the user be transferred from the
Canto Nxt to a fixed seat, if possible.
The Canto Nxt has been dynamically tested in a
n
forwards direction, with the test dummy (75 kg)
secured with a hip belt and a shoulder belt. Its
suitability in other collisions (e.g. lateral) has not
been tested.
The Canto Nxt has been tested in the various
n
configurations. The critical configurations with the
Axxion push assist and Snellius and Kelvin seat
elements and Matrixx headrests are also ‘crash
test safe’.
The chair must be fitted with a Matrixx headrest.
n
The Canto Nxt must be fastened to the floor of the
n
taxibus with a four-point securing system.
N.B.:
if there is no crashtest safe sticker
on the wheelchair, it is not a wheelchair
which can be transported safely.
N.B.:
the Canto Nxt frame is only crash
test safe in combination with Matrixx seat
elements and Matrixx headrests.
The positions of the four attachment points on
n
the Canto Nxt are indicated with a hook symbol
sticker (see figure 2).
