Stylus weak link
NOTE: Must be used with steel styli. For optimum metrology performance do not use a weak link with
ceramic or carbon fibre styli.
Fitting a stylus with weak link onto RMP60
In the event of excessive stylus overtravel, the weak link is designed to break, thereby protecting the
probe from damage.
Take care to avoid stressing the weak link during assembly.
Removing a broken weak link
1.8 Nm – 2.2 Nm
(1.3 lbf.ft – 1.6 lbf.ft)
