• S tore fuel only in container s s pecifically de s igned and approved for the s torage of s uch material s .
• Alway s s top the engine and allow it to cool before filling the fuel tan k . Never remove the fuel tan k
cap or add fuel when the engine i s hot. Alway s loo s en the fuel tan k cap s lowly to relieve any
pre ss ure in the tan k before fueling. Do not s mo k e.
• Alway s mix and add fuel in a clean, well-ventilated outdoor area where there are no s par ks or
flame s . Do not s mo k e.
• Never operate the unit without the fuel cap s ecurely in place.
• Avoid creating a s ource of ignition for s pilled fuel. Wipe up any s pilled fuel from the unit
immediately before s tarting the unit. Move the unit at lea s t 30 feet (9.1 m) from the fueling s ource
and s ite before s tarting the engine. Do not s mo k e.
• Never s tart or run the unit in s ide a clo s ed room or building. Breathing exhau s t fume s can k ill.
Operate thi s unit only in a well-ventilated outdoor area.

• Read the in s truction s carefully. Be familiar with the control s and proper u s e of the unit.
• Do not operate thi s unit when tired, ill, or under the influence of alcohol, drug s , or medication.
• Children and teen s under the age of 15 mu s t not u s e the unit, except for teen s guided by an adult.
• All guard s and s afety attachment s mu s t be in s talled properly before operating the unit.
• In s pect the unit before u s e. Replace damaged part s . Chec k for fuel lea ks . Ma k e s ure all fa s tener s
are in place and s ecure. Replace part s that are crac k ed, chipped, or damaged in any way. Do not
operate the unit with loo s e or damaged part s .
• Carefully in s pect the area before s tarting the unit. Remove all debri s and hard or s harp object s s uch
a s gla ss , wire, etc.
• Clear the area of children, by s tander s , and pet s . At a minimum, k eep all children, by s tander s , and pet s
out s ide a 50 feet (15 m) radiu s ; there s till may be a ri sk to by s tander s from thrown object s . By s tander s
s hould be encouraged to wear eye protection. If you are approached, s top the unit immediately.

• Wear s afety gla ss e s or goggle s that meet current AN S I Z87.1 s tandard s and are mar k ed a s s uch.
Wear ear/hearing protection when operating thi s unit. Wear a face ma sk or du s t ma sk if the
operation i s du s ty.
• Never run the unit without the proper equipment attached. Do not operate the unit without the
blower tube s or vacuum tube s and vacuum bag attached. Ma k e s ure the vacuum bag i s completely
zipped clo s ed.
• Wear heavy long pant s , boot s , glove s , and a long s leeve s hirt. Do not wear loo s e clothing, jewelery,
s hort pant s , s andal s or go barefoot. S ecure hair above s houlder level.
• To avoid s tatic electricity s hoc k , do not wear rubber glove s or any other in s ulated glove s while
operating thi s unit.
• U s e the unit only in daylight or good artificial light.
• Keep all s urface s free from oil and fuel.
• Avoid accidental s tarting. Be in the s tarting po s ition whenever pulling the s tarter rope. The operator
and unit mu s t be in a s table po s ition while s tarting. Refer to Starting and Stopping In s truction s .
• Do not s et unit on any s urface except a clean, hard area while engine i s running. Debri s s uch a s
gravel, s and, du s t, gra ss , etc. could be pic k ed up by the air inta k e and thrown out by the di s charge
opening, damaging unit, property, or cau s ing s eriou s injury to by s tander s or operator.
• Only u s e the unit for it s intended purpo s e. Only u s e the unit a s de s cribed in thi s manual.
• Do not force the unit. It will do the job better and with le ss li k elihood of injury at a rate for which it
wa s de s igned.
• Do not overreach or u s e from un s table s urface s s uch a s ladder s , tree s , s teep s lope s , rooftop
s , etc.

• Alway s hold the unit with a firm grip when operating.
• Keep hand s , face, and feet away from all moving part s . Do not touch or try to s top the impeller
when it i s rotating. Do not operate without guard s in place.
• Do not put any object into opening s . Do not u s e with any opening bloc k ed; k eep free of dirt, debri s ,
and anything that may reduce the air flow.
• Do not touch the engine or muffler. The s e part s get extremely hot from operation, even after the
unit i s turned off.
• Do not operate the engine fa s ter than the s peed needed to do the job. Do not run the engine at
high s peed when not in u s e.
• Alway s s top the engine when operation i s delayed or when wal k ing from one location to another.
• S top the engine for maintenance, repair, to in s tall or remove the blower tube s or vacuum
attachment s . The unit mu s t be s topped and the impeller no longer turning to avoid contact with the
rotating blade s .
• If you s tri k e or come into contact with a foreign object, s top the engine immediately and chec k for
damage. Do not operate before repairing damage. Do not operate the unit with loo s e or damaged part s .
• U s e only original equipment manufacturer replacement part s and acce ss orie s for thi s unit. The s e
are available from an authorized s ervice dealer. The u s e of any unauthorized part s or acce ss orie s
could lead to s eriou s injury to the u s er, or damage to the unit, and void the warranty.
• Never u s e thi s unit for s preading chemical s , fertilizer s or other s ub s tance s which may contain toxic
material s .
• To reduce fire hazard, replace faulty muffler and s par k arre s tor. Keep the engine and muffler free
from gra ss , leave s , exce ss ive grea s e or carbon build up.
• Never point the blower in the direction of by s tander s , animal s , window s or automobile s .
• Avoid s ituation s that could catch the vacuum bag on fire. Do not operate near an open flame. Do
not vacuum warm a s h from fire-place s , barbecue pit s , bru s h pile s , etc. Do not vacuum di s carded
cigar s or cigarette s unle ss the cinder s are completely cool.
• The unit i s de s igned to pic k up dry material s uch a s leave s , gra ss , s mall twig s , and bit s of paper. Do
not attempt to vacuum wet debri s and/or s tanding water a s thi s may re s ult in damage to the
blower/ vacuum. To avoid s evere damage to the impeller, do not vacuum metal, bro k en gla ss , etc.
OTHER SAFETY WARNIN G S
• Alway s di s connect the s par k plug before performing maintenance or acce ss ing movable part s .
• Never s tore the unit, with fuel in the tan k , in s ide a building where fume s may reach an open flame
(pilot light s , etc.) or s par ks ( s witche s , electrical motor s , etc.).
• Allow the engine to cool before s toring or tran s porting. Be s ure to s ecure the unit while tran s porting.
• S tore the unit in a dry place, either loc k ed up or up high to prevent unauthorized u s e or damage.
Keep out of the reach of children.
• Never dou s e or s quirt the unit with water or any other liquid. Keep handle s dry, clean, and free from
debri s . Clean after each u s e, s ee Cleaning and Storage in s truction s .
• Keep the s e in s truction s . Refer to them often and u s e them to in s truct other u s er s . If you loan thi s
unit to other s , al s o loan the s e in s truction s to them.
SPECIAL NOTE: Expo s ure to vibration s through prolonged u s e of ga s oline powered hand tool s could
