Manual MWS 6
erstellt am 02.11.2000 von DO
When you have set up the hardware, you install the software and start the unit.
Insert the Installation disk into your floppy drive and enter "setup". Then you follow
the instructions of the Installation routine.
A MWS 6 directory is established for the copy of MWS 6-software.
(Under the Windows-version this directory is called WMWS6. A program group and
an icon for the weather station are also created here.)
By standard the software is configured for use of the weather station on COM2 with
a 5 minutes-storage interval (BAUD-Rate 9600). For changing these settings, you
start the "MWSSET.EXE" program.
CAUTION : If you changed the BAUD rate with MWS6SET.EXE, you need to cahnge
the BAUD rate of the MWS6 via terminalprogram (see also Microprocessor Control
Parameters).
Now you start the software by entering "start" (Under Windows you double-click the
program icon).
Data recording is started here. Data are now written to your harddisk in the set
storage interval. If you quit your software and restart it later, the software fills the
gaps with blanks (Dummy) so that the time axis is not moved. A new data file is
automatically created every month. It is made up of Month_Year and file extension
.mws.
E.g.: October 1998 : 10_98.mws .
If the software is not started, there may be a faulty data file on your harddisk or there
is not enough storage available. The program is broken off then.
If the software finds a faulty data file, the program brings a message. In this case,
you break off with "j" and delete the faulty file.
Never edit the data files of MWS 6 (extension .MWS). Most editors cannot deal
with files of that size. Even if these files are only slightly changed, it may
happen that the data can no longer be interpreted!
(For more details on the software components see "Software").
START the software
NOTE!!!!
