e) Preparations at the Fuselage
Various openings must be created in the fuselage. Before
cutting out the foil at the fuselage, we recommend that
this area is ironed again.
Feel for the cut-outs for the windows, elevator and rudder in the fuselage.
Open these points with a cutter knife. Use the information from figures
4a and 4b.
f) Mounting the Elevator
Then push the elevator into the fuselage opening from the rear (figure 5a) and place it centrally on the fuselage.
Install the wings on the fuselage. For information on this, see chapter 8. n).
Measure the precise position of the elevator to the wing (see figure 5b).
Important:
The accuracy of this work considerably influences the flight properties.
When everything is measured perfectly, use a pen to mark the top and bottom of the fuselage for the precise position of the tail unit. Then pull it out of the elevator
again from the fuselage and carefully remove the iron-on film within the marks with a cutter knife.
Then you can attach the tail unit permanently to the fuselage with 30-minute epoxy glue.
Align the tail unit to the fuselage as illustrated in figures 4b, 5a and 5b.
