Reassembly
Carry out assembly of the piston and cylinder as follows:
1. Oil in the needle roller bearing and fi t it in the
connecting rod little end.
2. Locate the piston with the arrow pointing towards the
exhaust port. See fi g. 8. Press in the gudgeon pin
and
fi t the circlip.
3. Fit the inlet manifold to the cylinder. The clamp bolt
should be mounted upwards, parallel to the fl anges. See
fi g. 9.
4. Locate the gasket on the c ylinder base. Push
it home so that it fastens on the sleeve of the cylinder.
5. Oil in the piston ring and the sides of the piston.
6. Compress the piston ring either by hand or using the
piston ring tool 502 50 70-01. See fi g. 10. Carefully
fi t the cylinder.
7. Fit the four cylinder bolts (C) and tighten them in
rotation. Finally, tighten them to 10 Nm. See fi g. 11.
8. Refit the decompression valve (D). See fig. 11.
Tighten it to 15 Nm.
9. Attach the anti-vibration springs (B) to the cylinder.
See
fi g. 11. Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm.
10. Push home the impulse pipe (A) in the hole on the
inlet manifold. See fi g. 11.
11.Fit the spark plug and carry out pressure testing
according to the instructions on the following page.
12.
Refi t the following components:
• Muffl
er.
• Carburettor.
• Cylinder
cover.
13. If a new piston and/or cylinder have
been
fi tted, the saw must be run in for 3-4
hours with the carburettor adjusted to the basic
settings.
NOTE!
Ensure that no dirt or other foreign particles
fall into the crankcase.
