Appendix: reference

Display Panel Diagram

Time, Channel Number, Line Input Indicator (L1 or L2), or Status Indicator

the channel

number appears when the VCR is tuned to a channel. The line indicator (L1 or L2) appears when the
VCR’s line input is selected. Select L1 to record from the back jacks or L2 to record from the front jacks.

Deck indicator

whichever deck is active will be reflected on the front panel display. “Deck1” or

“Deck2” will appear above a tape movement/tape speed indicator.

Status Indicators

display of what the VCR is doing.

Hi-Fi Indicator

display of the audio status in stereo mode.

CUE

searching forward or reverse.

EJECT

cassette ejected in the active deck.

FF

fast forwarding.

•

LOOP

the VCR is set to record continuously unless manually stopped.

the VCR is turned off or on.

Express Recording is in progress (each press of the RECORD button increases the

recording time by 30 minutes up to 9.5 hours total. If the RECORD button is pressed repeatedly past 9.5
hours, “LOOP” appears indicating that recording will occur repeatedly until manually stopped).

REW

the tape in the active deck is rewinding.

the tape speed of the indicated deck.

playing or recording is paused.

the tape in the active deck is stopped.

Tape Movement/Tape Speed Indicator

reveals the direction the tape is moving. Also indicates the

current speed of the tape in the corresponding deck.

Time

the current time is displayed.

Timer Indicator

displayed during a timer recording or when the VCR is set for a timer recording and

turned off. Flashes when a timer recording is set and there is no tape in the VCR.

VCR Indicator

Indicates that the VCR’s picture is displayed on the TV screen (applies only if the VCR

viewing channel is 3 or 4). Press the TV/VCR button to turn on or off.
