Searching for Previews
While the VCR is searching for the
next preview, pressing SEARCH on
the remote control reverses the
direction of the search and pressing
STOP will cancel the search.
After the VCR has found the
beginning of a preview and started
playing it, press SEARCH to advance
to the start of the next preview.
• If viewing previews, the following screen appears with
a video background:
Searching for preview...
Press SEARCH to reverse
Press STOP to cancel
While the VCR is searching through previews:
• Pressing SEARCH on the remote control reverses the
direction of the search.
• Pressing STOP cancels the preview search mode.
When a preview is detected, the VCR cues it and begins
playing.
While the VCR is playing a preview:
• Pressing SEARCH on the remote control will search and
cue the next preview.
Picture Search Options
The most basic way to search during playback is using the
FORWARD or REVERSE buttons on the remote. This section,
though, contains several ways to search a tape.
Forward and Reverse Search
You can search a tape during playback, although sound is
turned off during the search. Forward and reverse searches
work well for tapes recorded at either the SP or SLP speeds.
While a tape is in playback mode:
1. Press FORWARD to search forward or REVERSE to search
in reverse.
2. Press FORWARD, REVERSE, or press PLAY to return to
normal playback.
Frame Advance
Frame advance lets you view recorded action one frame
after another during playback. Frame advance works well
for tapes recorded at the SP or SLP speed.
• Pressing PAUSE “freezes” the action.
• Pressing FR. ADV (the right arrow) repeatedly views
single frames of the action.
• Pressing PAUSE or PLAY returns normal playback.
