Advanced Options
The Advanced Options menu contains several additional
features that you can control.
1. In stop mode, press MENU on the remote.
2. Use the up and down MOVE arrows to highlight “Advanced
Options” and press OK.

When an option is selected, use the MOVE arrows to change the
setting.
Pause Scanning
Helps eliminate “flicker” that sometimes appears
in still-frame mode. Auto, the default setting, advances to the
next frame. The Field setting eliminates flicker by displaying only
one of the frame’s fields.
Audio for 2x Playback
Turns audio off or on when a disc is in
2x playback mode.
4x3 Preference
For playing DVD discs authored in 16x9 wide-
screen on a conventional TV. Pan/Scan crops the edges of the
image. Letterbox displays black bars at the top and bottom of
the screen.
Dynamic Range Compression
Compresses the dynamic range
(quietest to loudest sound) of a disc’s soundtrack. Useful for late-
night listening when you want to hear a movie’s dialogue without
having to turn the volume up.
