Using the Setup Menu
Selecting Digital Output Type
If you have a receiver with a digital signal input, use this
feature to select your player’s type of digital output.
1. In stop mode, press MENU on the remote.
2. Use the up and down MOVE arrows to highlight “Digital
Output” and press OK.

3. Use the MOVE arrows to highlight an output option and
press OK.
LPCM
Allows downsampling of 96kHz/24-bit digital
recordings so that 48kHz/16-bit digital recordings can be
made directly via digital cable. Unless you plan to make
recordings of this type (e.g., with a MiniDisc or DAT
recorder), leave the setting turned off.
Dolby Digital
Some older digital components are not
compatible with the default “Bitstream” setting. If you
experience noise and distortion during Dolby Digital
playback, select “PCM” instead.
