Resetting PIM™
Should it be necessary to move a PIM™ control to
another heater, the PIM™ has to be reset to allow the
ID Card to unlock the appropriate program parameters
and to load them into the PIM™ memory.
Follow these steps for a hard reset of the PIM™ to
clear program parameters:
1. Remove power from the PIM™ control.
2. Set all DIP switches on the PIM™ to their OFF
position.
3. Unplug connector J6 on the PIM™ control.
4. Unplug VERSA
®
CAT 5 cable from PIM™ control.
5. Press and hold the reset/test button (located next
to the LEDs on the right side of the PIM™ board)
while powering the controller for 5 seconds.
6. The red diagnostic LED will flash indicating a suc-
cessful reset. The PIM™ board’s memory is now
clear of any ID Card parameters.
7. Release the reset/test button.
8. Remove power from the PIM™ control.
9. Connect connector J6 to the PIM™ control.
10. Power up the PIM™ control.
11. If the reset was successful, the green LED shows
steady ON.
12. If the red and yellow LEDs are ON and the green
LED is OFF, the reset was NOT successful.
13. If the reset was not successful, repeat steps 1-11.
14. If reset was successful, remove power and reset
DIP switches for desired operation and return the
unit to operation.
15. Restore VERSA
®
to default values, be aware that
all configuration will be reset. Verify user settings
as necessary.
CAUTION:
DO NOT
swap a PIM™ from 1 heater to
another heater without resetting the PIM™ as out-
lined below.
