Automatic compass deviation correction
1. With the SmartPilot controller pilot in STANDBY mode, enter Seatrial Calibration mode:
• press and hold
standby for two seconds to enter Calibration mode
• when you see the DISPLAY CAL screen, press disp until you see the SEATRIAL CAL screen
• press
auto
to enter Seatrial Calibration
2. The first page in Seatrial Calibration should be the SWING COMPASS page. If this is not
the case, use the disp key to page through the Seatrial Calibration items until you see
SWING COMPASS.
3. When you are ready to start, press +1 to select SWING COMPASS ON.
The controller will display TURN BOAT indicating the start of the calibration process.
4. Start turning the boat in slow circles (with the boat’s speed below 2 knots). You will need
to complete at least two circles, taking at least 2 minutes to complete each 360°:

Turn boat in slow circles so:
• boat's speed stays below 2 knots
• each circle takes at least 2 minutes

Keep turning the boat until
you see the DEVIATION screen
