General Description
5.1
Functionality
•
The PowerPlus RDIDC-100-3-1U-X system is intended to boost the voltage of a telecom power
supply in order to reduce the current on the power cables. The output voltage of the system remains
constant to a value that is user configurable during its installation.
•
By reducing the current, the cable power losses are reduced and the total system becomes more efficient.
•
Additionally the PowerPlus RDIDC-100-3-1U-X is beneficial when operating on battery backup power
during a power outage. The PowerPlus RDIDC-100-3-1U-X will maintain a constant output voltage
(as configured) to the radio while the battery discharges. This allows the radio to operate for a longer
period of time while the batteries discharge.
5.2
System Configuration
•
The PowerPlus RDIDC-100-3-1U-X system is composed of a mounting rack and up to three
pluggable modules.
•
The voltage output of each module is connected to a Raycap Power Distribution Unit (PDU)
model RDIDC-9052-PDU-48.
