STEP 2: Connect the Second-Tier MasterConsole II Units
1.
Attach
a
PS/2
CIM
to
a
MasterConsole
II
unit
that
is
programmed
as
a
second
‐
tier
device.
2.
Connect
one
end
of
the
Cat5
UTP
cable
to
the
RJ45
port
of
the
CIM
being
attached
to
the
second
‐
tier
MasterConsole
II
unit;
connect
the
other
end
of
the
cable
to
one
of
the
channel
ports
of
the
first
‐
tier
MCCAT
unit.
3.
Connect
one
end
of
the
power
cord
to
the
power
jack
of
the
MasterConsole
II
unit
and
the
other
end
to
the
appropriate
power
outlet.
4.
If
you
want
to
connect
more
second
‐
tier
MasterConsole
II
units
to
the
first
‐
tier
MCCAT
unit,
repeat
Steps
1
to
3.

Power
ON
the
second
‐
tier
devices
first.
Then
power
ON
the
first
‐
tier
MCCAT
unit.
STEP 3: Specify the Type of the Connected Second-Tier
Device in the OSD
You
must
specify
the
type
of
the
connected
device
in
the
Configuration
Menu
.
Otherwise,
you
may
not
be
able
to
access
the
second
‐
tier
channels.

specifying

type,

the

Connected

page

Note:
The
second
‐
tier
MasterConsole
II
unit
is
shown
“/MCC<XXXX>”
in
the
OSD,
where
<XXXX>
represents
the
channel
number.
