Performing Initial Setup
To receive and setup the MobileTrace
®
:
1. Receive the device.

3. Power up the device.

Receiving the Device
When you receive the device, carefully examine the exterior and interior of the shipping case for any possible
shipping damage or evidence of mishandling. If any damage is found, note the information on the bill of lading and
immediately request an inspection from the carrier. Such requests must usually be made within a specified time
period from date of shipment. (The supplier is not responsible for damage to the device that occurred during
shipping and only furnishes replacement parts against a written purchase order. It is the purchaser’s
responsibility to file a claim with the carrier.)
Receiving and Installing Dopants
The negative and positive ion dopant replacements are shipped separately from the device and in accordance
with standard U. S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and International Air Transport Association (IATA)
shipping requirements.
CAUTION:
DO NOT store dopants with foodstuffs.
Dopants MUST come to room temperature before installing in the dopant chamber. If the
dopants were fully depleted, then once replacement dopants are installed, allow 2 hours for new
dopants to permeate into the device before calibration or sampling.
Review the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before handling any material. For copies of any SDS, .
Always observe safe laboratory practices.
The dopant tubes are shipped inside a plastic tube with end caps taped on. If the dopants are not being used right
away, they should immediately be placed in cold storage (in a freezer, if possible) to extend the dopant life.
