Neutral pedal adjustment (Fig.23
If the machine starts to 'creep' forwards or
backwards when the pedal is in the neutral position
then adjustment must be made as follows:
(a)
Slacken off three screws (B) on adjusting
plate (C).
(b) Insert screw driver, or similar tool, to either
side of lug and carefully move the adjusting
plate (C) until the neutral position is obtained.
(c) Retighten the three screws (B).
Speed Limiter: (A Fig.24)
Pedal movement is restricted to give a maximum
speed of 6.5 km/hr (4 mph), when cutting, by a
speed limiter fixed to the footpedal.
IMPORTANT: The speed must not be increased
above the maximum.
Should adustment be deemed neccesary it can be
achieved by releasing lock nut (A) and screwing in
the adjuster to reduce or increase the pedal
movement and resulting cutting speed.
Steering Control cable (Fig.25)
The cable should be kept taught without
overstraining and the adjusters at the rear wheel
pivot are used for this purpose.
Whilst every care must be taken to keep the cable
wound tightly round the steering column drum the
relationship between the rear wheel and the steering
bar must be maintained. (i.e.) When the steering bar
is straight across the machine the rear wheel should
be in the straight ahead position.
Lift, Lower and Cylinder drive lever (B Fig.26)
The adjusting screw should be set to give the spring
a compressed length of 22mm.
Cylinder Drive Belt Adjustment
Cutting cylinder drive belt adjustment is as follows:
a)
Release locknut on end of pivot shaft
b) Turn adjustment screw B clockwise to increase
belt tension and anti-clockwise to decrease.
The tension is correct when the belt can be
depreesed 8mm (5/16) when a load of 1.3-2.0
kg (3-4.1 lbs) is applied midway between the
pulleys
c) Re-tighten locknut
