8 ADJUSTMENTS
8.5 MARQUIS: SIDE ROLLS ______________________________________________
To allow long grass to the cut, remove the centre sections
of the front roll.
1. Remove the front-roll bolts, spindle and rolls.
2. Install the split pins into the spindle, position
the washers and outer rolls.
NOTE: The split pins and washers are supplied with
the machine.
3. Assemble again.
8.6 CYLINDER TO BOTTOM BLADE ADJUSTMENT __________________________
Make sure that the cutting cylinder is set to the bottom
blade: Tilt the machine backward, hold a thin piece of
paper between the edge of the blade and spiral cutters.
Turn the cylinder manually.
The paper must be cut cleanly along the length of the
bottom blade. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN - the cylinder
must turn freely.
To adjust, loosen the locknut [A]. Turn the adjustment
screw [B] to the right side to move the cylinder toward the
blade. Use an 1/8th of a turn on each side. Check
frequently with the paper until the setting is correct.
8.7 CYLINDER CLUTCH ADJUSTMENT _____________________________________
The adjustment of the cylinder clutch is made with the
clutch in the engaged position. Loosen the nuts [B] on the
side of the plate, turn both until the correct adjustment is
made. Tighten the nuts [B].
