The Digital Node Adapter (DGNA) is designed
to work in four different modes of operation.
This section will describe these modes.  The
modules are located in a 74749 rack.  The rack
has 12 slots numbered 0 to 11 from left to right,
viewed from the front.

Digital Max. Mode (Mode 1)

Digital Max. Mode (Mode 1)

This mode allows the DGNA to communicate with
up to 10 FloTronics Digital Air Control Modules (up
to 80 digital air outputs).  The DGNA is configured
for 3/4 logical rack of PLC space.  The DGNA is
located in slot 0 (left-hand most slot) of a 74749-17
rack.  Digital Modules are located in slots 1-5 and
7-11, with slot 6 empty.  A Digital/Analog Interface
(DAIF) board is located from the rear in slot 0 and
a Digital/Analog Cable is connected from DAIF
connector J2 to the J1 connector next to slot 6.
The PLC I/O location map for this mode is shown
in Figure 4.

Digital Min. Mode (Mode 2)

Digital Min. Mode (Mode 2)

This mode allows the DGNA to communicate with
up to 5 FloTronics Digital Air Control Modules (up
to 40 digital air outputs).  The DGNA is configured
for ½ logical rack of PLC space.  The DGNA is
located in slot 0 if Digital Modules are located in
slots 1-5 or slot 6 if Digital Modules are located in
slots 7-11 of a 74749 rack.  A DAIF board is used
behind the DGNA for the RIO connection, but no
DACAB is needed.  The PLC I/O location map for
the mode is shown in Figure 5.

Atomizer Max. Mode (Mode 3)

Atomizer Max. Mode (Mode 3)

Atomizer Max. Mode (Mode 3)

This mode allows the DGNA to communicate with
up to 10 FloTronics Atomizer Speed Control
Modules.  The DGNA is configured for 1/2 logical
rack of PLC space.  The DGNA is located in slot
0 (left-hand most slot) of a 74749-17 rack.  Atomizer
Modules are located in slots 1-5 and 7-11, with slot
6 empty.  A Digital/Analog Interface (DAIF) board
is located from the rear in slot 0 and a Digital/
Analog Cable is connected from DAIF connector
J2 to the J1 connector next to slot 6.  The PLC
I/O location map for this mode is shown in Figures
6 and 7.

This mode allows the DGNA to communicate with
up to 5 FloTronics Atomizer Speed Control
Modules.  The DGNA is configured for 1/4 logical
rack of PLC space.  The DGNA is located in slot
0 if Atomizer Modules are located in slots 1-5 or
slot 6 if Atomizer Modules are located in slots 7-11
of a 74749 rack.  A DAIF board is used behind the
DGNA for the RIO connection, but no DACAB is
needed.  The PLC I/O location map for the mode
is shown in Figures 8 and 9.
