19.3.2 RCI Blue Light

The RCI will boot up at ignition on. It will run a blue light self-test for the operator to acknowledge
and confirm.
o
Result: The Blue light should be illuminated.
19.3.3 Road Wheel Drive Braking
THE BRAKES MUST BE ABLE TO HOLD THE MACHINE ON ANY SLOPE IT
IS ABLE TO CLIMB.

Select low gear and drive forwards slowly.
4.
Apply the foot brake.
o
Result: The machine should stop promptly and firmly.
5.
Select low gear and drive forwards slowly.
6.
Stop.
7.
Apply the park brake
o
Result: The machine should remain stopped and hold firmly.
19.3.4 Rail Gear Deployment

When instructed it is safe to do so by the machine controller, inspect the On-Tracking access
point and ensure that it is suitably prepared.
9.
When instructed it is safe to do so by the machine controller, drive the machine to the On-Tracking
point and align the machine over the track.
10.
Enable lifting mode on the RCI.
11.
Following the instructions in the
Rail Axle Control paragraph,
press the rail axle control button
to select the rear axle, then operate the dozer up/down lever, backwards to raise the rail axle.
o
Result: The rail gear should not lower.
12.
Disable lift mode on the RCI.
13.
Following the instructions in the
Rail Axle Control paragraph,
press the rail axle control button
to select the rear axle, then operate the dozer up/down lever, forwards to lower the rail axle or
backwards to raise it. Move the front rail gear raise/lower lever down.
o
Result: The front rail gear will lower onto the rails and lift the machine off the ground.
o
Result: The display will indicate when the front rail gear is fully deployed (Green rail wheel).
14.
Repeat for the rear rail gear using the previous lever.
15.
Move the rear rail gear raise/lower lever down.
o
Result: The rear rail gear will fully lift the machine.
o
Result: The display will indicate when the rear rail gear is fully deployed (Green rail wheel).
