BLADE ADJUSTMENT
The clearance between the cutting blades must be
adjusted periodically to maintain opti mal performance
and sharp cutting.
1. Using a wrench, loosen each nut on the top side of
the blade guide.
2. Tighten each bolt from underside of blade with a
wrench.
3. Loosen each bolt 1/2 turn,
4. While holding each bolt in place with wrench, tighten
the nuts.
NOTE:
After adjustment, the washers be tween the
bolt head and the blade should be able to be turned by
hand, but not loose enough to move when the unit is
tilted from side to side,
CAUTION:
If the clearance between the cutting
blades is set too wide, the blades will not cut correctly.
If the blades are adjusted too tight, overheating may
occur.
REPLACE SPARK PLUG
Replace spark plug each year to ensure the engine
starts easier and runs better. Set spark plug gap
at 0,025 inch (0,6 mm). Igni tion timing is fixed, non
adjustable.
Twist, then pull off spark plug boot.
Remove spark plug from cylinder and dis card.
Replace with Champion RCJ-6Y spark plug and tighten
securely with a 3/4 inch (19 mm) socket wrench.
Reinstall the spark plug boot.
REPLACE FUEL FILTER
To replace fuel filter, drain unit by running It dry of fuel,
then remove fuel cap/retainer assem¬bly from tank.
Pull filter from tank and remove it from the fuel line.
Install new fuel filter on fuel line; reinstall parts.
