2. Installation instructions
2.1. Mounting instruction
The rudder angle indicator must be mechanically connected to the steering
device, by means of a connection rod or a chain wheel set. If you prefer to use a
chain wheel set, please note that the gear ratio should be chosen so, that when
the rudder is in one of the end positions, the rudder angle indicator is rotated a
90°. This guarantees an optimal working of the sens or.
When you are using your S-100 in combination with a 360° rotating rudder, the
sensor should be linked with the agitators in a 1:1 ratio.
The rudder angle indicator should be mounted in a way so that the chain is in
line with the two mounting brackets on the sensor. In this way all mechanical
forces on the device are evenly divided.
After connecting the wires on the S-100, a small quantity of Vaseline, or a similar
product, should be applied on the rubber gaskets. Afterwards the top of the
sensor should be carefully applied by pressing it straight into the housing.
Once all connections and installments have been carried out properly the sensor
will be waterproof until a depth of 1 meter.
