You can adjust the ringer and earpiece/
speaker volume separately.

Setting the ringer volume
Press the volume up key or volume down
key (labelled as
VOL/RING/
or
VOL/RING/
)
on the handset or base in standby mode to
select one of three ringer volumes (off, low,
or high). You will hear each volume level.
The last ringer heard will be the volume
setting, then the phone returns to standby
mode.
Adjusting the earpiece and
speaker volume level
You can select from among six volume levels
on the handset and ten volume levels on the
base. While your phone is in use, press the
volume up key or volume down key (labelled
as
VOL/RING/
or
VOL/RING/
) on the
handset or base repeatedly to adjust the
earpiece or speaker volume. This setting will
remain in effect after the telephone call has
ended.

When you press volume up

maximum volume level or
volume down key (

) in the lowest
volume level, an error tone
sounds.
