ATTERIES
Your radio requires four AA
alkaline batteries (not
supplied) or rechargeable
nickel-cadmium (Ni-Cd) (not
supplied) or nickel-metal
hydride (Ni-MH) batteries (not
supplied) for power. Follow
these steps to power the radio
with alkaline batteries.

1. To turn off the radio,
rotate
VOL/OFF
clockwise
until it clicks.
2. Pull down the latch on
the battery compartment
cover. Then remove the
cover.

• Use only fresh
batteries of the
required size
and recommen-
ded type.
• Do not mix old
and new bat-
teries, different
types of bat-
teries (alkaline
or recharge-
able), or
rechargeable
batteries of
different
capacities.
• Dispose of old
batteries
promptly and
properly.
• Do not burn or
bury batteries.
• If you do not
plan to use the
radio for a month
or more, remove
the batteries.
Batteries can
leak chemicals
that can damage
electronic parts.
