4.2 ASSAY MODE
As noted above,
ASSAY
cannot be started before the system auto-stabilization is
OK
, once the device is
stabilized proceed as follows:
a) Select
ASSAY
from the Survey Operator Menu (to the
right) or the Main Menu (below) and press
OK
to
activate this function.
b) The
ASSAY
routine starts and the following display is
seen.
NOTE: The label and details of the display are
controlled by the
Analysis
Method
selected.
For the
RS-332
with internal collimator the
Analysis Method
would be
Colim_300
.
c) After
30 seconds,
data appears on the display and
the data is updated every 30 seconds until the sample
ends (default setting is 5 mins but user can change).
d) At the bottom of the display the sample period
progress is seen (7/300 = 7 seconds of a 300 second sample).
e) At the
end
of the sample period the final results are seen, as explained below
4.2.1 Assay Results Screen
The figure (to the right) shows a screen with typical Assay
results explained as follows:
a) Col 1
– a numeric list of all the data results
b) Col 2
– the label of the data typically:

c) Col 3
– data results (note that in the Cal file a lower detection limit is set as below this level the
data may be inaccurate. e.g. <3.0 means the low detection limit was set at 3.0 and the actual
results are lower than this.
d) Col 4
– data units (%, ppm, uSv etc.)
