TC-800 | TC-1100 Radar Speed Sign Installation Manual MN0035 v23.02
Making the Power Connections
•
Run the 1/2” flexible non-metallic conduit connector (FNMC-B connector/UL Approved) from the solar panel down
the pole, and between the battery housings to the bottom of the radar sign. It is important
to secure the conduit to the pole as much as possible to reduce vandalism opportunity.
•
Attach the flexible non-metallic conduit connector from the solar panel to the cover plate
provided in the hardware kit.
•
Connect the solar wiring
2-prong
male and female pins to power up
the sign.
•
Watch the sign run through a power on test (15-20 seconds). Testing
is complete when the blue blinking light changes from solid to blinking.
The sign should be operational at this point with factory settings
.
•
If the sign does not power up or operate at this point, disconnect and
check your solar connections. They are most likely reversed.
•
Connect the batteries into the electrical circuit with the
4-prong
male
and female pins.
If you do not do this, your sign will operate only
during the day light hours using solar energy!
•
Install the cover plate with the conduit connector to the power
junction box with the screws provided in the hardware kit.
