Choosing a
Scanning Method
Paradigm's scanning feature allows you to automatically monitor, or
scan, your computer channels without intervention. When keyboard
activity is detected, scanning is suspended until all keyboard activity
stops. Scanning then resumes with the next channel in sequence. Mouse
activity will not affect scanning in any way. The length of time each
channel remains on the screen, or dwell time, is configurable and can be
changed at any time.
There are two ways to scan through the channels in your Paradigm
system, either sequentially or alphanumerically.
Scanning sequentially allows you to view each of your active channels in
the order that they are attached to the Paradigm. The amount of time each
channel remains on the screen, or dwell time, is configurable and is the
same for all channels.
Scanning alphanumerically allows you to scan all your channels in
alphanumeric order according to the channel list in the main OSD Window.
With this scan method, you can adjust the dwell time for each channel or
omit a channel from the scan sequence completely.
Choose whichever method is most appropriate for your configuration.
