2. Adjusting Wheel camber
a.
Remove rear wheels
b.
Using a 10mm wrench loosen both bolts (A) to the point where the camber sleeve and be rotated (B)
c.
Rotate camber sleeve (B) 180 degrees to change the camber from 0° to 3°.
notE–notch on sleeve in up position is 0°. notch on sleeve in down position is 3°.
e.
Using a 10mm wrench to tighten the bolts back into place. Use a torque setting of 60 in.-lbs.
f.
Repeat process on opposite side of the wheelchair.
3. Wheel Base Width Adjustment
Adjusting the wheelbase width allows the rider the option to move the wheels closer or further away from
the hips. it also compensates for camber adjustment and gives the proper wheel spacing to maximize pushing
efficiency.
1.
Remove rear wheels.
2.
Using a 10mm wrench loosen both bolts (c) to the point where the camber sleeve (B) can be moved.
3.
slide camber sleeve (D) in or out to new location.
4.
Using a 10mm wrench, tighten the bolts to a torque setting of 60 in-lbs.
5.
Repeat this on opposite side of the wheelchair.
4. seat height Adjustment
1.
Remove rear wheels
2.
Using a 10mm wrench remove the top fastener (E) and loosen the bottom fastener (F).
3.
With a ratchet motion move the axle bracket (g) up or down to the new location.
4.
Using a 10mm wrench, tighten the bolts. Use a torque setting of 144 in-lbs.
5.
Repeat process on opposite side of the wheelchair. Ensure new desired height is the same for both
the left and right side of the frame. Use the index holes on the axle plate as a reference.
notE– A front caster adjustment should be made to correspond with any change in seat height.
E. REAR WhEEl AXlE nUt ADJUstMEnt
the rear wheel axle ( i ) attaches the rear wheel (l) to the axle sleeve (M). When the detent balls (k) engage
into the camber plug the rear wheel effectively becomes locked onto the chair. Pushing the quick-release but-
ton (h) disengages the detent balls and allows removal of the axle and wheel assembly.
to adjust the axle you will need a 3/4" wrench to turn the adjustment nut (k). You will also need a 1/2"
wrench to securely hold the ball detent end of the axle to prevent it from turning.
if the wheel and axle will not lock into the axle sleeve then the axle requires adjustment. turn the nut count-
er-clockwise approximately 1/4 revolution and try to lock the axle into the camber plug. if it doesn't lock,
continue making small nut adjustments until it securely locks.
if the wheel is locked on the chair but there is excessive wheel play (the wheel hub can be pushed back and
forth on the axle) then adjust the nut clockwise until there is no perceptible gap between the wheel and cam-
ber tube and the axle is securely locked onto the chair.
cAUtion– Quick-release button (h) must be flush with the edge of the wheel hub for detent balls (k) to
be engaged.
